On the 14th of February, the winners of the 13th Kyoto Women Entrepreneurship Awards were announced.

Top prize was given to Masae Shimpo, CEO of Matcha Tourism, which offers tea-picking experiences and other activities to visitors to Japan. The Special Prize was awarded to Marika Suzuki, CEO of Comaru, which provides support services for parents of children with developmental disorders. The awards ceremony will be held on March 3 at the Hotel Monterey Kyoto.

The Kyoto Women Entrepreneur Awards were established in 2012, and is open to applications from all over Japan for “business models by female entrepreneurs that contribute to improving people's lives and revitalizing local communities and the economy” that have been running for less than five years.
