New co-creation base opens in Akita

#co-working, #CommunityEngagement, #Entertainment

Video production start-up Outcrop opened the full-scale Atre Delta complex in their home city of Akita on 25 January earlier this year. The facility was renovated from a vacant four-story apartment building and aims to create a base for solving social issues, co-creation, and international exchange.

The name 'Atre Delta' was chosen to signify 'a place where new flows happen'. The investment amounted to 140 million yen and was developed in cooperation with the building's owner, Tohoku Bussan, using government and Akita Prefecture subsidies.

The first floor hosts a café and car park; the second floor has 14 rooms for short-, medium-, and long-term stays accommodating up to 30 people; the fourth floor has rental offices, co-working space, and a shared studio for filming. Outcrop and Tohoku Bussan's offices are on the third and fourth floors.

Of particular interest is the theatre suite, which can accommodate up to five people and is equipped with full-scale sound equipment that is also used by cinemas.
