Messe Nagoya 2024, an exhibition for cross-industry exchange organized by the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry among others, opened on October 30th at Port Messe Nagoya. A total of 778 companies and organizations exhibited at the event, including Toyota Motor Corporation, Chubu Electric Power Co, and Denso Corporation.
With the opening of Station Ai — Japan's largest startup incubation base — in Nagoya this year , companies looking to explore co-creation with startups and SMEs were particularly prominent. 80% of the participating companies were SMEs this year, a significant increase from the 65% of last year. Jun Karube, vice chairman of the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry and chairman of the Messe Nagoya Executive Committee, said, “we want to explore how the automotive industry and other industries can collaborate with startups.”
