Startup festival TechGALA Japan opened the doors for its first-ever event in Nagoya in March. Hosted by a consortium including Aichi Prefecture and the Chubu Economic Federation in the Station Ai campus—Japan’s largest startup incubation base—140 startups from more than 10 countries participated in discussions, exhibitions, and pitch contests on themes such as mobility and environmental issues.
With more than 5,000 visitors over the three days of the event, TechGALA’s inaugural showing was a roaring success. General producer Hiromi Okuda said, “as a place for start-ups and large companies to meet, direct human interaction is essential for expanding support to startup companies. We are looking forward to holding this event every year, and creating an environment attractive to overseas investors.”
