The first exhibition where companies related to nuclear fusion power generation exhibited their products was held at INTEX Osaka on the 20th November, 2024. Startups aiming at fusion power generation and small and medium-sized companies manufacturing related components exhibited their products. Until now, the national government and universities have taken the lead in nuclear fusion research, but the private sector is expected to take advantage of its technological capabilities to create new industries in order to realize fusion power generation in the 2030s and beyond.

Start-ups developing fusion reactor-related technologies such as Kyoto Fusion Engineering and EX-Fusion hosted booths and were actively seeking partnerships with a view to supplying parts and forming supply chains. There were also lectures and seminars by industry insiders as Japanese companies make their presence known as they work towards the realization of fusion power generation, which is expected to come about in the 2030s.
