The Ministry of Small and Medium Venture Business of South Korea opened K-Startup Center Tokyo (KSC Tokyo) as a base for South Korean start-ups to expand their business in Japan amidst the growing number of Korean start-ups wishing to enter the Japanese market and the growing exchange between Korea and Japan in the economic, social, and cultural fields.
The opening of KSC Tokyo is the first overseas expansion under the Korean government’s 'Measures to Support the Globalization of Small and Medium-Sized Venture Businesses,' which include expanding existing export support policies to support global expansion and strengthening the functions of KSC as an overseas base for start-ups.
KSCs have been established in five locations - Seattle, USA; Paris, France; Singapore; Hanoi, Vietnam; and Tokyo, Japan - with plans to expand to other key regions.
KSC Tokyo supports start-ups to establish and grow stably in the Japanese market, providing office space, acceleration for local establishment, funding, networking and other support.
