Kanazawa City, in cooperation with the Ishikawa Information System Industry Association, will launch a new initiative to develop the next generation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) workers. This project follows the Kanazawa IT Club established for junior and senior high school students, and the Kanazawa Robo Club for elementary school students.

In 2024, the late-high school and university iteration of this initiative — the Kanazawa IT Club Academy — will be launched for graduates of the Kanazawa IT Club, with the aim of fostering entrepreneurship and its main themes being the Metaverse and civic-tech (citizen participation technology).

Kanazawa City and the Ishikawa Information System Industry Association are also working with local companies to provide opportunities for the students to gain practical experience by working with real-life businesses.
