Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, will establish a ‘One-Stop Center for Business Startups’ in 2023 to provide support for procedures and consultations related to starting a business — such as corporate registration and taxation — in a single location. Those who plan to start a business in the city will be able to submit the necessary applications online after consulting with the center in advance. The center will be located in the centrally-located Kaga City Innovation Center, already home to startup offices and a co-working space.
Kaga is designated a National Strategic Special Zone, and the center will take advantage of this special exemption. The city has already implemented a special exception allowing for the deferment of immigration screening requirements, such as securing an office, in order to promote the acceptance of foreign entrepreneurs.
Tokyo and Fukuoka — among other cities — have established one-stop centers for business startups by taking advantage of special exceptions in national strategic zones. Until now, when starting a business in Kaga, some procedures could not be handled in the city and required a trip to Komatsu.
