Hack Osaka, a startup event sponsored by the City of Osaka and the first two-day event of its kind in Japan, was held on the 18th and 19th this month. The venue had space for exhibiting products and services, and representatives of many tech companies — such as the newly-launched Japan office of payment giant Stripe — took the stage.

Noteworthy in their attendance was Kazushige Nobutani, Director General of the Kansai Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, who commented on the growth of industry and startups in the Kansai region.
