Grand Green, a start-up company from Nagoya University, plans to begin sales of their genetically-modified tomatoes with enhanced sugar content in 2025. The company uses the Nobel Prize in Chemistry-winning CRISPR-Cas9 to improve the taste, disease resistance, and crop yield of their tomatoes.
Grand Green is in the process of developing other crops to promote health and solve food problems, such as their research in lettuce cultivation alongside the National University of Singapore.
