Amid a severe local talent crunch, Kanagawa-based IT companies are turning to international experts for relief. The urgency is backed by data: Japan anticipates a shortfall of 450,000 IT professionals by 2030.
Keisuke Kuzugawa, CEO of Yokohama’s SystemEye, is one of those leading the charge in hiring foreign talent. Once struggling to meet staffing needs, SystemEye now boasts 50 foreign employees out of 290, thanks to global recruiting and support like housing assistance and language classes.
LogicVein, another local firm, echoes this sentiment, attributing 40% of its workforce to foreign hires, lured by competitive salaries and strong networking.
Kanagawa firms’ successful international hiring strategies not only fill a short-term gap, but also offer a replicable model for overcoming Japan's chronic talent shortage.
