In the Tenryu area of Hamamatsu City, has emerged as an unexpected region with growing momentum for startups and entrepreneurship.

Hamamatsu City has positioned Tenryu as a place for business creation using technology and data, and is focusing on attracting startups and large corporations. Entrepreneurship is encouraged through a vacant-property utilization program, and in the Futamata area in particular new restaurants and other businesses are opening in increasing numbers, attracting younger generations.

To capitalize on this, the Tenryu Trial Office will host an event called ‘The Potential for Startup Entrepreneurship in the Mid-Mountainous Area of Hamamatsu’ on the 27th. At this event, startup executives will take the stage to discuss the significance and challenges of business development in the region through lectures and Q&A sessions.

Managers and investors attending include FromTo (Shinjuku, Tokyo), which has a branch office in Hamamatsu; Kurashi no Kotsu (Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture), which operates an on-demand transportation system; and venture capital company Seibo Investment Works (Kyoto City).
