The city of Sendai announced that their new startup support center, Sendai Startup Studio, will open its doors on March 14. Located in the heart of Sendai next to the station, the center will be multi-industry, and covers a wide range of startup maturity, from launch to growth and expansion.
Up to now the city has been working with Tohoku University and the local business community to support startups. With the launch of Sendai Startup Studio, Sendai is formalizing its commitment to create innovative startups through the establishment of a consultation service staffed by specialists and the formation of a community.
From March 18, professionals from venture capitalist and major accounting firms will be available for consultation. Advance reservations are required. Future plans include consultants visiting from financial institutions and leading start-ups in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
