BionicM, a startup developing robotic prosthetics, has raised ¥370 million in funding.
BionicM is developing a robotic prosthetic leg with a power-assist function by utilizing the University of Tokyo's world-leading humanoid robotics technology. 2021 will mark the first time a Japanese manufacturer enters the prosthetic leg industry, a market dominated by Western manufacturers.
Their "Bio Leg" robotic prosthesis is now available in Japan and China.
