Japan Robot Week was first held in 2012. Held the year following the world’s largest robot trade show, the iREX (International Robot Exhibition), it has been held every other year, now for the 7th time. In addition to manufacturing and service industry robots, the focus is on collaborative robots and system integrators. In recent has continued to expand in response to robot-related needs to become a place where it’s easy to have active business discussions and exchange technologies.
As the need for automation and labor-saving grows rapidly, robots and AI are increasingly prevalent. At this event, we have established new startup and academic zones with the hopes that innovative technology possessed by such groups will help provide clues towards addressing the implementation needs and issues in fields where labor shortages are significant, such as agriculture, logistics, nursing care and more.
In a rare experiment for an exhibition, the shared space of the venue will contain a demonstration area. The theme is “Towards a society where people and robots coexist.” Keeping in mind the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Economy’s mission of building robot-friendly environments, it will be an innovative space that respond to expectations both inside and outside the industry with the aim of further social implementation. We’re looking forward to your participation.
