Polyuse, a start-up developing 3D printers for construction sites, has raised JPY 710 million.
Polyuse is the only manufacturer of 3D printers for construction in Japan, carrying out over thirty construction projects across the country in FY2022. January 2022 also marked the first adoption of the technology for public works projects by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Japan is seen as a prime candidate for mass adoption of 3D construction printers due to the ever-increasing reduction of the workforce due to aging, and the technology’s use in the rapid restoration of disaster areas.
