The Innovation Leaders Summit (ILS) is Asia‘s largest open innovation matching event, which was launched in 2014 under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, with the aim of matching major corporations with startups to create innovative new businesses.
In the main new business matching program called “POWER MATCHING,” 113 major corporations and 812 promising startups recommended by 106 Japanese and international leading venture capitalists, government agencies, and other organizations participated. Over the course of 16 days, 3,121 business meetings took place, and the number of collaboration cases in which the major corporations responded that they would like to re-negotiate for collaboration reached 1,032 cases. With a high-precision matching program where one out of three cases lead to a collaboration opportunity, it is possible to rapidly promote one's own open innovation initiatives.*From previous event results.
"POWER MATCHING" is an invitation-only program attended by the startup collaboration departments of major corporations. 3,121 one-on-one meetings held over 16 days led to 1,032 deals that major corporations said they had a desire to continue negotiating with a view to forming partnerships. In many cases, these deals have already led to alliances and in some cases M&A.
