The Shibuya Creative Tech Executive Committee, in partnership with Shibuya Ward, is set to host Dig Shibuya in January 2024, a 3-day event merging technology and art to create a unique cultural experience. Leveraging Shibuya's diverse cultural influences and increased attention from tech companies, both local and global, we aim to blend cutting-edge technology with art, making it accessible to residents and visitors alike. It also offers programs uniting digital art with Shibuya's commercial facilities, encouraging interactive exploration.
This inaugural event features Los Angeles-based artist collective FriendsWithYou as the main artists. The collective will showcase their installation works and performance, The Happy Dancing Rainbow Alliance, themed around Magic, Luck, and Friendship. These experiences will unfold in innovative ways, utilizing public spaces and various venues.
Furthermore, the event will include collaborations with domestic and international art and tech projects, along with community organizations sharing the event's ethos, exhibiting their works. It is an opportunity to explore the latest culture emerging from Shibuya.
